FINDING NOURISHMENT IN A NEW DECADE.
It's a New Year, and a New Decade, which seems like an appropriate time to cultivate more self-care and happiness in our lives. I think of self-care as anything that promotes well being and nourishment in our lives. I know that when I take the time to do things that are good for me and make me feel more centered and relaxed it spills over into every area of my life.
It can be hard to find the time to fit self-care in every day life with all the demands we have on us, so here is what I propose...
DAILY
+ Drink filtered water. I use a Berkey Water filter, which removes unhealthy chemical contaminants while at the same time leaving in the essential minerals your body needs.
+ Wake up an hour earlier to be sure to start the day in a more impactful and meaningful way.
+ Meditate for 20 minutes when you wake up, this way you know you will fit it into your day.
+ Journal for 20 minutes. Start with a list of 10 things you are grateful for.
+ Move the body for 20 minutes to fire-up the brain and get ready to take on the day.
+ Technology free evenings
+ Present moment awareness... be in the now. Thank you, Eckhart Tolle!
+ Spend time in nature and practice more compassion for yourself and others.
WEEKLY
+ 20 minutes in the sauna or steam helps detoxify and increases circulation which can give your skin a healthy glow. Plus it is very calming and peaceful.
+ Dry Skin Brushing. Exfoliates, increases circulation, stimulates the lymphatic system and helps with detoxifying the body.
+ Do a facial mask once a week!
+ Talk to your tribe about self-care and how you are creating habits that are impactful and healthy for you.
Let's make 2020 the best year yet.
