Start your Spa Day with an Herbal Facial Steam
Get ready for Glowing and radiant skin! Herbal Facial steams are incredibly effective and easy to do. Steaming should absolutely be a part of your regular facial regimen (unless you tend to have redness or rosacea.)
Benefits:Deeply cleanses your skin of impurities, removes toxins, prevents breakouts, increases circulation and balances oil production. Encourages faster skin cell production, resulting in firmer and brighter looking skin. Steaming also allows for better penetration of serums and facial creams.
Ingredients:- 4 Tablespoons Organic Herbal Facial Steam (Our favorite blend from Peak Scents has lavender, calendula, chamomile, and rose petals.)
- ½ teaspoon Organic Geranium and Lavender Essential Oil
- Wash your face with one of our gentle, all-natural cleansers
- Bring 16 ounces of water to a boil
- Steep the Organic Herbal Facial Steam in the hot water for 10 minutes.
- Strain into a large bowl and let cool for about 5 minutes.
- Place a towel over your head and hover your face above the bowl, making sure your face is far enough away to not get burned.
- Steam for 10 minutes off and on and rinse with cold water.

Follow that with a Fresh Facial Mask
Our motto is, "If you wouldn't eat it, don't put it on your skin!" That's why we love making our own Fresh Food Masks loaded with nutrients. Each mask takes only 25 minutes or less to make. Here are seven DIY masks you can make!
General directions for face mask recipes:
- Wash your face and neck with warm water and an oil-free cleanser to remove makeup and open pores.
- Apply the mixture and let the it stay on your skin for 15 minutes
- Wash the mask away by rinsing with lukewarm water and a soft washcloth
- Splash your skin with cool water to close and tighten pores, and then pat dry with a soft, clean towel
- Moisturize as normal.
1. Cucumber & Yogurt Facial Mask
Why we love it: this mask keeps your skin looking fresh, smooth and hydrated. Cucumbers are 96% water… hello hydration! There's also plenty of vitamin C and caffeic acid, both of which help soothe irritation, clear imperfections and reduce puffiness. Yogurt contains the alpha hydroxy acid lactic acid, which is an excellent exfoliant and moisturizer.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 Tablespoons plain yogurt
Directions:
- Place the cucumber slices and yogurt in a blender
- Blend for about 15 seconds, or until a purée is formed. The mask should have s smooth, creamy consistency. Pour into a small bowl.
2. Avocado, Honey & Yogurt Facial Mask
Why we love it: This mask provides light exfoliation and a super boost of hydration. Rich in healthy fats, vitamins, and antioxidants, avocado is very hydrating, and the yogurt contains the alpha hydroxy acid lactic acid, and is an excellent exfoliant. The honey adds an extra boost of hydration and nutrients.
Ingredients
- ½ an Avocado
- 1 tablespoon Yogurt
- 1 teaspoon Honey
Directions:
- Mash the avocado in a mixing bowl
- Add yogurt, then honey and mix well.
3. Papaya & Egg White Facial Mask
Why we love it: Papaya is packed full of acne-fighting vitamins and minerals including vitamins A and C, beta hydroxy acid, papain, and potassium. When mixed with egg white and honey, papaya is ideal for reducing redness, healing acne, and shrinking pores.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup Papaya
- 1 Egg White
- 1 teaspoon Honey
Directions:
- Whip egg white in a mixing bowl
- Mash papaya and add it into the whipped egg white
- Add honey and mix well.
4. Brown Sugar & Coconut Oil Facial Mask
Why we love it: Brown sugar is both a physical exfoliant and a chemical exfoliant because it's a natural source of glycolic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid.) The exfoliation delivers smooth, bright skin. Coconut oil gives you a surge of hydration during and post-mask, so your skin won't dry out after all the exfoliation. it also has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
Directions:
- Warm coconut oil slightly in a mixing bowl
- Add brown sugar and mix well
- Massage gently into skin, then follow general directions above.
5. Turmeric, Lemon & Manuka Honey Facial Mask
Why we love it: Perfect for brightening and reducing hyper-pigmentation and age spots, turmeric reduces redness, treats breakouts, helps with age spots, reduces scarring, and helps heal psoriasis and eczema. It also brightens and tones the skin. The honey aids by healing acne and scarring, cleaning pores while naturally exfoliating, and helps skin to retain moisture. The vitamin C in the lemon is essential for brightening and evening out skin tone.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoon Manuka Honey
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric
- A Squeeze of Fresh Lemon Juice
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl
- Mix until well combined
- Massage gently into skin, then follow general directions above
- Note: You may need to wash you face a couple of times to remove the yellow tint
6. Green Clay, Rose Hip Seed Oil & Lavender Oil
Why we love it: This mask helps remove toxins while tightening and toning the skin. The lavender and rose hip oils aid in maintaining the appearance of healthy, toned skin while the clay helps with the removal of toxins.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoon Green Clay
- 1 teaspoon Rose Hip Oil
- 2 Drops Vitamin E
- 2-4 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
- Water as needed
Directions:
- Combine the first 3 ingredients together in a glass bowl with a wooden spoon. Please do not use a metal utensil or bowl when working with clay.)
- Add enough water to make a spreadable paste.
- Add lavender essential oil and stir
- Massage gently into skin, then follow general directions above.
7. Activated Charcoal, Clay & Apple Cider Vinegar
Why we love it: Activated charcoal and clay are both great for acne and blackhead removal, and both balance oily skin. This recipe is detoxifying and purifying and it's super easy to make!
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon Bentonite Clay
- 1 capsule Activated Charcoal (powder removed)
- 1 teaspoon Organic, Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
Directions:
- In a small glass bowl, combine clay, charcoal powder, apple cider vinegar, and tea tree oil.
- Stir to combine
- If the mixture is too dry, add a few drops of water at a time until the desired consistency is reached
- Apply in an even layer, then follow general directions above.
Next up, pamper yourself with a Simple Body Scrub
- Promotes circulation and skin cell turnover.
- Removes dead cells from the skin's surface.
- Smooths and softens rough, dry skin.

Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
Directions
- Warm Coconut oil slightly
- Add brown sugar
- Mix well
- Rub gently all over the body, leave on for 5 min.
- Rinse with warm water

Avocado, egg and olive oil Hair Mask
Why we love it: Repairs and restores damaged hair. The ingredients are packed full of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and moisture-loving nutrients. This hair treatment provides the ultimate strength and shine for your hair and scalp.
Ingredients:
- ½ an Avocado
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
Directions:
- Apply to wet hair with your fingertips, starting at the bottom and working your way up.
- Wrap your hair into a bun and cover with a shower cap or towel.
- Let it sit for 20 minutes and wash out in the shower.
